YOUTH MINISTRY
What comes to mind when you think about God? Who do you believe God is, and how do you believe God interacts with you personally and with your world? These are questions we are going to be addressing in this three-week series - Godview. You see, every one of us has a Godview, and that Godview affects everything we do. The tension in this series is that we don't ever really know everything about God. There are things that each one of us knows about God now that we didn't know five years ago because God is constantly revealing Himself to us through the relationship that we have with Him. And while we'll never really know everything about God - because He's that big and that mysterious - the things we can learn about Him shape the way we respond to whatever life brings. That's why author A.W. Tozer said, "What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.
“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him. He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”
Middle school students face a world full of changes. Physical changes, emotional changes, and spiritual challenges abound in their everyday lives. This is why a life, rooted deeply in the word of God is so vitally important. We challenge our middle school students to “GET ROOTED” in God’s word and we teach them practical applications for biblical truths. Authentic Faith, Spiritual Discipline, Moral Boundaries, Healthy Friendships, Wise Choices, Ultimate Authority and Putting Others First… these are foundational truths that we desire to instill in all of our students. It is our hope that your student will find Oakwood to be a place of belonging and will find friends to grow with.
